Ancient and historical place Kalady is a holy pilgrimage place of India. Surrounded by Holy temples of all religions, forests, bird sanctuaries, rivers, back waters and enchanting land scapes. Kerala is known as “Gods own country”. Kerala is the land of ancient Vedic Culture. According to Puranas, Parasurama accessed this land from Sea God – Varuna who receded and gave up this land. It is the land ruled by a benevolent Asura King Mahabali. He was later subdued by Vamana, the fourth incarnation of Mahavishnu. Since then Vishnu is the main deity of Kerala. Kerala established Spice Trades with the rest of the world from 4 BCE through its ports. This brought rarefied early practices of Christianity and Islam to India. Hence Kerala has a reputation of being, communally, one of the most religiously diverse and cosmoplitian states of India from Centuries.
The Ashrama is located near the ancient Sri Adhi Sankaracharya Birth place at Kalady in Ernakulam.
